OUR CollectionS

The Museum collection comprises of artefacts originally owned by the Town Council of Linlithgow which were handed over to the National Museums of Scotland in 1974. Most of the collection was passed to the ownership of Linlithgow Heritage Trust in 1991. The collection includes coins collected during the 19th century, architectural models, items of civic regalia and many more objects donated by Linlithgow's citizens.

Donate an Object

Today, we continue to collect items relating to Linlithgow and the surrounding area. We are always interested in hearing from anyone who would like to donate an object to the museum collection. Any offers are assessed by our volunteer Curator who looks at the objects condition, connection to the local area and any link to our current collection.

If you have an object you would like to donate or loan to the museum please contact the office on 01506 670677 or email enquiries@linlithgowmuseum.org.

Search our collection Online

Our volunteer curator has been working at digitising our photography collection thanks to funding from Museums Galleries Scotland. As part of this we how have a searchable online database of our photography collection. This is still a work in progress and more photos will be added.

You can access our online collection here.

If you are interested in finding out more about our photography collection or would like to purchase an image please contact the museum office.
