Volunteer Treasurer - Linlithgow Heritage Trust
Linlithgow Heritage Trust is seeking a volunteer Treasurer to join our Board.
After completing a term of office, our current Treasurer is stepping down as a Trustee and Treasurer, and we are now looking for an individual with financial experience to help oversee the financial management and governance of the charity.
About Linlithgow Heritage Trust
Linlithgow Heritage Trust runs the Linlithgow Museum, a well-established Accredited Museum and registered charity based in the Partnership Centre in the heart of the vibrant town of Linlithgow. The museum has big plans for exciting exhibitions, collecting and preserving local stories and artefacts and having a positive impact on young people’s education and people living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Role of the Treasurer
The Treasurer plays a key role on our Board by:
Monitoring the financial health of the organisation.
Ensuring proper financial records and procedures are maintained.
Working with staff and Trustees to review budgets, accounts and financial plans.
Providing advice and assurance on financial matters to the Board.
Supporting compliance with OSCR and other regulatory requirements.
Skill and Experience
We are seeking someone with:
Experience in finance, accountancy, or bookkeeping.
An understanding of charity finance (desirable but not essential).
The ability to commit a few hours each month to Board meetings and financial oversight.
A genuine interest in heritage, history or the arts.
