Volunteer with Us

Be Part of the Story

Linlithgow Museum simply couldn't do what we do without our volunteers.

From welcoming visitors and caring for collections to helping with exhibitions, events, research and community activities, volunteers are involved in almost every part of museum life.

Whether you're looking to share existing skills, learn something new, meet people or simply get involved with your local museum, we'd be delighted to hear from you.

You don't need previous museum experience — enthusiasm and curiosity are a very good place to start.

How Could You Get Involved

Volunteering doesn't have to mean being at the Museum every week.

Some volunteers enjoy taking regular Gallery Steward shifts, while others get involved with particular exhibitions, events or projects. We'll talk to you about your interests, skills and availability and help find an opportunity that works for both you and the Museum.

Never volunteered in a museum before?

That's absolutely fine. We'll introduce you to the Museum, explain what's involved and provide the information and support you need to get started.

What You'll Get From Volunteering

Meet people • Learn new skills • Explore local history • Gain experience • Get involved in interesting projects • Make a difference in your community

Whether you already know how you'd like to help or you're simply curious about volunteering, we'd love to hear from you.

Tell us a little about yourself, what interests you and when you might be available, and we'll arrange an informal chat about current opportunities.
