How to Get Here
However you travel, Linlithgow Museum is easy to reach in the heart of the town.
BY TRAIN
Linlithgow Station is around a 10-minute walk away along the High Street, with frequent trains from Glasgow and Edinburgh seven days a week.
BY CAR
Linlithgow is easily reached from the M9. Leave at Junction 3 when travelling from Edinburgh and the east, or Junction 4 when travelling from the west, then follow signs for Linlithgow.
BY BUS
There are bus stops just a few dozen yards away at the east side of Linlithgow Cross. Buses heading East stop at the north side of the High Street; buses heading West on the south side.
PARKING
Limited parking, including a designated disabled parking space, is available in Court Square beside the museum. Alternatively, The Cross Car Park offers paid parking just a few minutes’ walk away.
BY BIKE
Bike parking is available directly outside the Partnership Centre.
BY BOAT
We’re only a few minutes walk downhill from the Union Canal, with moorings next to the Linlithgow Canal Centre.
Accessibility
We want everyone to feel welcome at Linlithgow Museum.
The museum is located on the first floor of the Linlithgow Partnership Centre, with step-free access via a lift. Accessible toilet facilities are available within the building, and a designated disabled parking space is located nearby in Court Square.

Linlithgow Museum is a relaxed, family-friendly place where children are encouraged to explore, ask questions and discover history for themselves.
Look out for BB, our time-travelling museum mascot, and her Explorer Challenges, with activities designed to help curious young visitors discover the stories and objects around the museum.
We’re free to visit, so you can stay for as long – or as little – as suits your family.
